If you've ever asked for a website quote, you know the feeling: one provider says $300, another says $5,000 for what looks like "the same thing." You're not crazy, and neither is necessarily lying. A website's price isn't about the number of pages — it's about what's behind each one.
This guide gives you real 2026 ranges and, more importantly, how to know what you're actually buying.
What actually drives the price
Three factors explain almost every difference between quotes:
- Functional complexity. Five informational pages is not the same as a store with payments, inventory and a client area.
- Design. An adapted template and a design built from scratch are completely different jobs in time and outcome.
- Strategy. Keyword research, technical SEO and copy written to sell cost more — but they also return more.
Real price ranges in 2026
Landing page (single page): $150 – $800
Great to validate an idea, a campaign or a single service. It must load fast and drive one action: get in touch or buy.
Business website (SMB): $800 – $3,000
Your trust engine: home, services, about, contact and a blog. With custom design and technical SEO included, it's the minimum to seriously compete on Google.
Online store (e-commerce): from $1,500
Here the price is justified by the database, the payment gateway and product/order management.
Rule of thumb: if a quote is far below the range, there's almost always a hidden cost that shows up six months later (no SEO, no maintenance, no support).
What almost nobody includes (but should)
- SSL and speed. Google flags sites without a certificate as "not secure," and a slow site ranks worse.
- Baseline technical SEO. Titles, structure, structured data and sitemap. Asking for it afterwards usually costs double.
- Maintenance. An un-updated site is a vulnerable site. Budget for support from day one.
So — cheap or expensive?
The right question isn't how much it costs, but how much it earns you — or how much you lose without it. A website is your best salesperson working 24/7; cutting corners on it means cutting corners on your sales channel.
At FenixL that's our starting point: agency-level quality at prices an SMB can actually afford. Our plans start at $300 (one-time) and include custom design, technical SEO and a site built to convert, not just to "exist."
